After a deflection, the ball reached Liston Colaco, who set up Sahal Abdul Samad for the opening goal.
Just two minutes later, in the 19th minute, Sahal doubled Mohun Bagan’s lead. Manvir Singh initiated the move with a pass to Dražić on the right, who then crossed for Sahal to tap in his second goal. Manvir Singh himself added to the scoreline in the 24th minute, controlling an inviting cross from Tekcham Abhishek Singh before finding the net, making the score 3-0.
Sahal Abdul Samad completed his hat-trick in spectacular fashion in the 37th minute. He picked up possession near the halfway line, advanced past several defenders, and slotted a right-footed finish past the goalkeeper. Mohun Bagan maintained significant possession, holding 75 percent in the first half and going into the interval with a four-goal lead.
Second Half Continuation and Other Group Results
Despite coach Panagiotis Dilimperis making four changes at halftime, Mohun Bagan continued to control the game. Manvir and Liston had further attempts on goal before the team added a fifth. Sahal Abdul Samad provided a through ball to substitute Jamie Maclaren, who scored by slotting the ball through the goalkeeper’s legs in the 68th minute.
Tekcham Abhishek Singh completed the scoring in the 73rd minute, combining with Liston Colaco before finishing into the roof of the net.
